Fresha pricing 2026: plans, fees and the 20% new-client cut

It's Tuesday at a three-chair salon. Between clients you're on the phone with a regular who wants to move Thursday's color to Friday. Her name is in a paper book, a Google calendar and a stack of sticky notes, and none of them agree. Fresha keeps coming up, and you remember hearing it was free. You want to know what Fresha pricing actually comes to before you move your whole book onto it.

I checked Fresha's pricing page on October 26, 2026. Every number below comes from that page. Pricing pages change, so look again before you sign up.

Fresha pricing at a glance

There's no free plan anymore. You get two paid plans, a custom tier for big operations, and a 7-day trial that doesn't need a credit card.

Plan Price on Fresha's page Who it's for What's included
Independent $19.95 per month "One-person businesses," with one bookable team member One calendar column, 100 free texts a month, 50 free marketing emails a month, email and chat support
Team $14.95 per bookable team member per month Businesses with more than one bookable team member Multiple calendar columns, unlimited team members, 100 free texts and 50 free marketing emails per team member each month, phone, chat and email support, plus commission tracking and timesheets
Enterprise Custom rates "High-volume businesses with over 20 team members" Quote through sales

The terms are short. Billing is monthly and the page shows no annual rate. The FAQ says there's "no long-term contract" and you can cancel anytime. Prices are "exclusive of local sales taxes." Fresha also says it doesn't charge a fee for each booking. The one exception is the marketplace fee covered below.

What a small salon pays per month

You pay Team per bookable team member, so your headcount sets the bill. Here's the subscription alone, from the published rates:

Setup Plan Monthly subscription Free texts each month
Solo stylist or esthetician Independent $19.95 100
3 bookable team members Team $44.85 300
6 bookable team members Team $89.70 600

Two notes on that. Team is cheaper per head than Independent, but it only kicks in once a second person takes bookings. And a front desk person who doesn't take appointments isn't a bookable team member, since that's what Fresha charges for. On Team, the page also lists Team Connect at $2.95 per team member, and it's worth asking sales exactly when you'd need it.

For a salon that takes most payments by card, the subscription can end up the smallest line on the bill.

The fees that change the bill

Fee Rate on Fresha's page (Oct 26, 2026)
Online payments 2.79% + $0.20 per transaction
In-person payments 2.29% + $0.20 per transaction, plus $0.10 per Tap to Pay authorization
Manual card entry 3.30% + $0.20 per transaction
Buy now, pay later (Klarna) 5.99% + $0.30 per transaction
Card terminal From $139 per device
New client from the Fresha marketplace 20% one-time commission, $6 minimum per client
Returning clients, direct booking links, Facebook and Instagram bookings Free
Automated texts past the free allowance $0.02 per text
WhatsApp messages past the free allowance $0.04 to $0.11 per message
Marketing emails past the free allowance $0.02 per email
Marketing texts $0.08 per text
Automated email and app notifications Free and unlimited

Fresha says payment processing is optional, so you can keep your current card reader if you'd rather.

How the 20% new-client fee works

This line is easy to skim past. When a brand new client finds you through Fresha's marketplace and books, Fresha takes 20% of that first booking one time, with a $6 minimum. Clients who come back don't trigger it again. Neither do clients who book through your own link, your website or your Instagram.

The math on two first visits:

  • An $80 cut and style booked through the marketplace costs $16 in commission, then card fees on top. Paid online, that's another $2.43.
  • A $25 brow wax would be $5 at 20%, so the $6 minimum applies.

So the fee pays for itself only when the marketplace sends you people you wouldn't have gotten anyway. If most new clients already find you on Google or Instagram, send them your direct Fresha link. Then they book the same way and the commission never applies.

The add-ons

Fresha lists these as optional, per location per month unless it says otherwise:

Add-on Price
AI Concierge, messaging only $29.95
AI Concierge, calls and messaging $99.95, includes 200 minutes, then $0.60 per minute
Client Loyalty $59.95
Google Rating Boost $14.95
Team Connect $2.95 per team member
Insights $9.95 per bookable team member
Data Connector $295
Smart Website $15.95 (not per location)
Meta Pixel ads and Google Analytics Free

A three-chair salon that adds the calls version of the concierge, Google Rating Boost and Insights has gone from $44.85 a month to $189.60 before a single card is swiped. That may be money well spent, but it's a long way from $14.95 a stylist.

If you're comparing booking tools, I broke down the other two big ones in Mindbody pricing and Vagaro pricing.

What Fresha handles on its own

Out of the box, the subscription covers online booking, automated reminders by email and app (and by text within your allowance), deposits and prepayments, and no-show and cancellation fees through Fresha payments. On no-shows, the FAQ points to reminders, deposits or prepayments, and easy rescheduling. If you need wording for the policy itself, I wrote up a no-show policy you can copy. I also compared booking deposits with a card on file for salons.

What a small salon still does by hand

The software books whoever reaches it. Most of the hand work sits before the booking and after the visit:

  • A client calls while you're foiling and gets voicemail. Some of those callers never call back. The calls version of Fresha's concierge add-on is one answer at $99.95 a month. A text back from your own number within a minute is another.
  • A client walks out without booking her next appointment, and nobody notices for ten weeks. I covered the trade-off in rebook at checkout vs a rebooking text.
  • Someone has to remember to ask for the review, ideally while the visit is still fresh.
  • Rebook rate, new clients by source and no-shows by stylist all live in reports someone has to open. A short Friday email is easier to read.

Automating around Fresha without stacking add-ons

You can cover most of that list with a few small pieces next to the plan you're on:

  1. A missed-call text back from the salon's number with your direct booking link, so new callers book without the marketplace fee.
  2. A rebooking text a set number of weeks after each service, timed by service type, so a cut and a color don't share one schedule.
  3. A review request the evening of the visit, sent only to clients who didn't flag a problem.
  4. A Friday summary of new clients, rebooks and no-shows, sent to your phone.

Builds start at $500 one-time, then a flat monthly from $99 after an included run-in period, cancellable. Whether that beats adding Fresha's own add-ons depends on how many chairs you have and which gaps hurt most. With one chair, the add-ons may be the simpler choice. More on how this works for salons is on the salon and med spa automation page.

What stays with a person

Some of this shouldn't be automated. Consultations for color corrections and med spa treatments need a person who can say no. A loyal client who no-shows once should hear from you before she gets an automatic fee notice, and whether to waive that fee is your call. So is fitting someone in at 6:30 because her daughter's wedding is Saturday, and so is the welcome at the chair. What I automate is the reminders, the follow-ups and the counting, so your time goes to that work.
