Mindbody pricing: what each plan costs in 2026
2026-09-29 · 7 min read
Tuesday morning at a small salon. The first client is in the chair, the phone rings twice while your hands are full of foil, and a text from yesterday asking to move a Thursday appointment is still sitting on your personal phone. Your booking software is a paper book and a shared calendar, and you've started pricing out something better. Mindbody keeps coming up, so the first question is Mindbody pricing: what does it cost, and what do you get for it?
I checked Mindbody's pricing page on September 29, 2026. This post sticks to what that page says. Pricing pages change, so look again before you sign.
How much does Mindbody cost?
Mindbody publishes one number. The Starter plan is listed as "Starting at $79 USD/month per location." The other two plans, Accelerate and Ultimate, show no price. Each one has a "Let's talk" button that sends you to sales.
"Starting at" matters here. $79 is the floor for Starter, and the page doesn't say what pushes a Starter account above it. For Accelerate and Ultimate you only get a figure from a sales conversation.
You'll find blogs and review sites listing monthly prices for all three plans. They don't agree with each other, and none of them is a price Mindbody publishes, so I'm leaving them out. If you want a real number, ask the rep to write one down for your exact setup.
| Plan | Published price (checked Sept 29, 2026) | What the page says it includes |
|---|---|---|
| Starter | Starting at $79 USD/month per location | Business management tools, integrated payments, branded website booking widgets, a website for your business, a listing on the Mindbody app, basic reporting |
| Accelerate | Not published ("Let's talk") | Everything in Starter plus analytics and reporting, room and resource management, Client Pick-a-Spot, promo codes, access to premium add-ons |
| Ultimate | Not published ("Let's talk"), labeled "Best Value" | Everything above plus automated email and text campaigns, list-building tools, an automated front desk for missed calls, a sales pipeline, advanced analytics, higher message limits |
Mindbody plans: the fine print on the same page
Several costs sit outside the plan price. Here's what the page says about each, and what it leaves out.
| Question | What Mindbody's pricing page says |
|---|---|
| Setup fee | "There's no setup fee on any Mindbody plan." |
| Contract | "It depends on your plan and billing terms, including any promotions you signed up for." |
| Cancelling | Usually handled in your account or through support, and "may require advance notice based on your agreement" |
| Free trial | Not mentioned |
| Card processing | "Your rate is based on the Mindbody plan you select." No rate is listed |
| Branded mobile app | Offered as an add-on. No price listed |
| Automated front desk (they call it a concierge) | An add-on on Starter and Accelerate, included in Ultimate. No add-on price listed |
| Extra text messages | "A fraction of a cent (or local equivalent) each" |
| Mindbody app marketplace fee | 20% of the first purchase, capped at $30, and only "when the app delivers a client you wouldn't have received otherwise" |
The line most salon owners will care about is in the FAQ: "booking confirmations and reminders by email and text are included on the Accelerate plan and above." Starter doesn't list them. If the reason you're shopping is fewer no-shows, the $79 plan may not be the plan that does it, and the plan that does has no published price.
How much does Mindbody cost per month in practice?
It comes down to three things the page won't total for you. First, the plan: Starter from $79 per location, the rest by quote. Second, the processing rate, which depends on the plan. Third, any add-ons you turn on. For a salon that runs most of its revenue through card payments, the processing rate can matter as much as the subscription, so ask for both in the same quote.
Questions worth asking on the sales call, with the answers in writing:
- What's my monthly price for the plan that includes text confirmations and reminders?
- What's my card processing rate on that plan?
- How long is the agreement, and how much notice do I give to cancel?
- Does any promotional price go up after a set period?
- What do the add-ons I'd use cost each month?
What a small salon or studio uses day to day
Most small shops lean on a handful of features and leave the rest alone. Clients book online from your website or Instagram link instead of calling. You check the calendar to see who's in with which stylist or instructor, and in which room. You take cards at checkout and sell packages or memberships. You keep client notes: color formulas, preferences, allergies, what you did last time. And you want a text going out after each booking and before each visit, with a way to confirm or reschedule. On Mindbody, that last one means Accelerate or above.
Campaign tools, pipelines, list building and advanced analytics are built for studios with a front desk team and someone running marketing. A two-chair salon or a solo esthetician often pays for them without opening them.
What the monthly bill buys, and what you can add without moving up a tier
If Starter covers your booking and payments, the gaps a small shop usually feels are the ones Mindbody saves for higher plans: reminders, rebooking nudges and missed calls. Those can be added around the software you already have.
A reminder setup reads each new booking and sends a confirmation text right away, then a reminder the day before. A client who replies "C" gets marked confirmed. A client who asks to move gets a link to rebook, and anything else lands on your phone for a person to answer. The wording I'd use is in these appointment reminder templates.
For missed calls, a caller you couldn't reach gets a text within a minute asking what they need, with a booking link. When you're mid-service that often saves the appointment. More on that on the missed-call text back page.
Rebooking nudges are the third piece. A few weeks after a color or a facial, the client gets one text with your booking link, timed to when they'd usually come back.
This is the kind of work I do for salons and med spas. Builds start at $500 one-time, then a flat monthly from $99 after an included run-in period, and you can cancel. Whether that beats moving up a Mindbody plan depends on the quote you get, so get the quote first and compare the two numbers.
Moving up can be the right call. If you have several staff, rooms to schedule and someone who will actually run campaigns, a higher tier with one vendor and one support line may be simpler than stitching pieces together. I'd rather tell you that than build something you'll replace in a year.
What stays human
The conversations that matter stay with you. A client who wants to talk through a color correction, someone nervous about a first treatment, a regular who's upset about last visit: none of those should get an automated reply. The same goes for judgment calls on your no-show policy. A system can send the reminder and flag the no-show, but whether you charge a loyal client who got stuck at work is your call. The texts that go out the same way every time can run on their own, which leaves you more time for the ones that can't.
Mindbody pricing questions
Does Mindbody publish its prices?
Only partly. On September 29, 2026 the page listed Starter at "Starting at $79 USD/month per location." Accelerate and Ultimate were quote-only.
Is there a setup fee?
The pricing page says "There's no setup fee on any Mindbody plan."
Does the cheapest Mindbody plan send appointment reminders?
The FAQ says text and email confirmations and reminders are included on Accelerate and above. Starter doesn't list them.
Is Mindbody month to month?
The page doesn't say. It says terms depend on your plan, billing terms and any promotion, and that cancelling may need advance notice. Ask for the agreement length in writing.
